20th June 1998 I'm at the CD shop. Temptation waits. Should i get Version 2.0 or not? I think I'm paranoid about wasting my money on a CD, but I don't care. When I grow up, I can waste all the money I want on CDs *laffter* Maybe I need Medication, some Special medication. There's a Hammering in my head telling me to buy the CD, so I guess I'll just Push it and take it. In situations like this, The trick is to keep breathing. Don't be Dumb and just stare at pictures of Shirley Manson, thinking that you want to Sleep together with her. Just put your Wicked ways aside, 'cause You look so fine and deserve nothing less than Garbage's latest release, Version 2.0! Awrite, how'd ya like that intro? I thought a lil' commercial ditty and a quick listing of all 12 tracks would be quite novel..heh I know, I know, you're complaining about the CD having only 12 tracks...I was a little disappointed in that too..the total running time is just under 50 minutes..=(..but that aside, it was a real treat listening to a whole new side of Garbage. Their foray into more of techno and electronica is not unfounded; for the first time, I wanna stand up and dance to Garbage! Shirley Manson is still at her sensual best...quote: "I need a man for the taking...", "Sweat it all out...", "Push it!" etc...she definitely shines even in all the fast-paced dancy tunes. Lyrics wise...well...Garbage is still...Garbage. Rating: 4.5 Trash Bags out of 5 Reviewed by Shaun |

13th June 1998 You've probably already heard "Uninvited" by Alanis Morissette" and Goo Goo Doll's "Iris" on radio. The City of Angels OST is well-worth every buck of your 18 dollars.. This delightful soundtrack comprises of many different kinds of songs, ranging from the 70s' and 80s', to jazz, to ballads, instrumental, and of course, your modern music. This soundtrack also pulls in many different kinds of renowned singers, from guitarist Eric Clapton, to U2, Alanis Morissette, to Paula Cole. However, if you're not a person of much variation and you (pardon me) conform to present-day music and nothing else, this may not be the soundtrack for you. Songs worth listening to, other than "Uninvited" and "Iris", are Sarah McLachlan's "Angel", U2's "If God Will Send His Angels", Paula Cole's "Feelin' Love" and "The Unfeeling Kiss." Overall, a nice and worthwhile soundtrack, but a bit too instrumental-ish. Almost all the ballads have a long long introduction with violins. Shaun says: "Oi, instrumental is good too okay! =)" Rating: 4 Angels out of 5 Reviewed by Char |
